had clutch kit supplied and fitted 9 months ago costing 322.80. Now making a loud chirping noise which disappears as soon as any pressure is applied to the clutch. Had 2 independant garages tell me its the Thrust Bearing needing replaced. Contacted Ashcrofts as clutch kit they fitted is still within 12 months guarantee but there response has appalled me. They said I can take car back and they will remove clutch kit they fitted 9 months ago and fit new one (AT MY COST!!) which would be another 322.80 then they will send the clutch away to see if it is faulty or if its due to the way the car has been driven?? They advised it will take 3-4 months before the clutch will be inspected and a diagnosis made??? Ashcroft will not take any responsibility at all even though I have the receipt from 9 months ago they are saying that the 12 months guarantee is with the clutch manufacturers and not themselves?? In my opinion whos to say that the fitting of the clutch isnt the issue here and not the clutch itself?? I am very disappointed with Ashcrofts response to this and would just like to say to anyone considering using them that the receipts they give out are a complete joke as they mean nothing even if you think its valid it isnt. If they can pass the buck they will!!
